The Story of a stylish Bag:“Travel, Style Aur Bagwati”

Inspired by the colours, cultural diversity and beautiful madness of a country called India, stylist Surbhi Goswami took up an interesting and a very unique project revolving around the story of a bag named “Bagwati”. Yes, you read it right - the story of a bag.

Titled, “Travel, Style aur Bagwati”, Surbhi kick started her journey with her muse from Delhi, and then travelled to other states in India, including Kolkata in West Bengal, Shillong in Meghalaya ,Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, Mcleodganj in Himachal Pradesh, and Gokarna in Karnataka, just to name a few  - and styled her bag according to the culture and traditional garbs of that particular region. Through her bag, she brought together a stylish amalgamation of fashion and culture, lifestyle and tradition and travel and tourism that beautifully captures and celebrates the essence of today’s India. Here are some of the chosen images from stylish Bagwati’s marvellous travel diary.

This is how Bagwati looked before starting her journey from New Delhi

Top 20 Worst Red Carpet Looks :68th Annual Cannes Film Festival

No matter how many A-list stylists and designers are on their speed dial, these beauties are still prone to ‘memorable’ red carpet blunders. One of the worlds’s most anticipated red carpet events, the 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday and here are some of the worst red carpet moments.
Warning: Prolonged exposure to some of the looks can be seriously HARMFUL to your aesthetics.

Lady Victoria Hervey flashes her knickers in this thigh-high slit number. Queen of  Red Carpet tackiness.

Natasha Poly, in Atelier Versace . Voilà!  Bathing suit + curtain / bed linen / shower curtain = DIY Red Carpet outfit. Yes, this is how i look at this bathing suit gown.

Aymeline Valade, in Stella McCartney. I guess she lost her way and landed on the red carpet. Apt for a neighborhood grocery store

Vincent McDoom keeps it shredded.  And, this is what happens when you have a big fat rat in your wardrobe.

Michelle Rodriguez, in Zuhair Murad . Really ? Is that a Zuhair Murad gown ? Horrendous ! What was she thinking ?

Is Mona Ayoub flashing her corset ? Let's keep it shimmery tacky.

As always, Elena Lenina knows how to look horrendous on the red carpet. Ms. Lenina this is not a fairy tale costume party.

Li Yuchun in Jean Paul Gaultier . No, this marriage of a coat with a jumpsuit is not doing anything to you.

Melissa George, in Schiaparelli. This could have been good for a casual event but not Cannes Red Carpet. And, no it's not even helping her body type.

Lindsay Ellingson, in Ulyana Sergeenko . The sci-fi look does not impress me much. The sheer looks quite cheap for the red carpet.

Salma Hayek, in Alexander McQueen. Why the dress looks messy on her ? Why ?

Sienna Miller, in Valentino. The kite dress. Next please !

Alicia Vikander, in Louis Vuitton. You made the red carpet BORING !

Sophie Marceau in a pleated skirt and a leather trouser combo. Is that a DIY number ?

Liya Kebede, in Proenza Schouler. A messy affair !

Kendall Jenner,  in Alaïa. Girl, you have got the look, you have got the body, then why this unflattering ill fitting ensemble?

Viann Zhang thought it was a costume party. The gown could have been apt for MET Gala 2015 "China: Through the Looking Glass" What say ?

Eva Longoria, in Gabriela Cadena. Now, that lace looks way too tacky for the red carpet. From best dressed to worst dressed, you need a good stylist Eva.

Dita Von Teese, in Ulyana Sergeenko. I hate to have her in this list. This is a perfect example of how clothes can overwhelm the wearer. Sack the stylist!

Petra Nemcova, in Zuhair Murad. In spite of all the drama and a daring plunging neckline, i am not able to get on board with this choice. I felt, even the neckpiece is unnecessary with this ensemble – it’s not complementing her in anyways. And, that TAIL ?

Anja Rubik wore a beautiful electric blue DSquared2 strapless gown at the amfAR gala yesterday during the ongoing 68th Cannes Film Festival. I love the voluminous drama of this show stopping gown, further accentuated by its textural sheen. How about you?

Dita Von Teese in Ulyana Sergeenko: When clothes, eats up the wearer: amfAR Gala: Cannes Film Festival 2015

I have always admired Dita’s unconventional fashion choices. But, i hate to say this, this time i am a tad disappointed. Dita Von Teese wore a Ulyana Sergeenko Spring 2015 Couture at amfAR’s 22nd Cinema Against AIDS Gala, during the ongoing 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival.

In midst of all the embroidery of the bell shaped dress, i think there was too much going on in the name of styling. Her clunky black shoes were a complete mismatch and the neckpiece was just not required for a dress that had so much of the decorative details on it .And, yes the dress didn’t even compliment her body type. This is a perfect example of how clothe
s can overwhelm the wearer. Sack the stylist!

Aishwarya sparkles in Elie Saab Couture: amfAR's 21th Annual Cinema Against AIDS gala event: Cannes Film Festival 2015

Marking her last appearance at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Aishwarya Rai wore a classic purple Elie Saab Spring Summer 2014 Couture gown at the amfAR's (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) 21th Annual Cinema Against AIDS gala event at the ongoing 68th Cannes international film festival. This is her second Elie Saab number at this year's festival.

Harry Winston cluster necklace and a sparkly box clutch complemented the sparkly crystal encrusted floral appliqué gown. Her signature side swept hair and matching purple eye shadow completed the look. Compared to her yesterday's dramatic look in Ralph and Russo couture, the Elie Saab gown was a very subtle affair. But, nonetheless , she looked elegant.
