Balmain channelled the high octane glamour of the 70’s, which saw the models donning high-waist palazzos, sharp cut jackets, including ruffled , lace, striped , beaded fringe and satin numbers. With a seductively vibrant colour palette of fuchsia, orange, violet, green, pink, red and blue, almost all the pieces were colour blocked, balanced by the fluid yet structured beauty of the silhouette.

For designer Olivier Rousteing, the collection was all about celebrating the unapologetic self expression, freedom and brashness of the 70’s, which was a direct reference to the Charlie Hebdo killings in January this year.
